Ammonites are regarded as a symbol
of good luck and good fortune.They
are a symbol of wealth and are
believed to attract abundance
and prosperity.

The name ammonite comes from the spiral
shape of their fossilised shells resembling
tightly coiled rams horns. Pliny the Elder
called them "Ammonis Cornua" (Horns of
Ammon) because the Egyptian god Ammon
was typically depicted wearing rams horns.

In medieval England ammonites were thought
to be petrified snakes and were often called
Snakestones or Serpentstones and were
believed to provide protection from
snake bites.
