Hostas step out of the shade

Small Hosta Bowl & Spoon
handmade in
England from the finest lead free pewter.

The heavenly hosta has inspired us to
turn its wonderfully linear shaped
leaves into a beautiful bowl and spoon set.

A favourite of gardeners (and greedy slugs)
the hosta makes a striking scultural shape
and our pewter hosta bowl makes a
gorgeous addition to any dinner party.

It can be used for salt, pepper, sauces, jams
or pickles and unlike silver doesn't
need polishing or special care, simply wash
with soapy water.

Great gifts for gardeners

Ideal tenth wedding anniversary gifts,
tin gifts (pewter is 92% tin).

Our Small Hosta bowl is 11cm long.
The spoon features a hosta shaped bowl
and a twig handle.

The modern shade garden plants were introduced from Japan to Europe by Philipp Franz von Siebold in
the mid-19th century.

Hostas (or Funkia, as they used to be known) are notoriously a favourite food for deer, slugs and snails, which commonly cause extensive damage to Hosta collections in gardens.

The Hosta is one of Prince Charles’ favourite plants. At his Highgrove organic garden the National Collection of Hostas are kept in remarkable condition without chemicals. By establishing a balanced ecosystem, slugs and snails are eaten by predators.
