Medieval Anglo Saxon Box
A wonderfully detailed Medieval Anglo Saxon pewter circular trinket box.
Great gifts for history lovers.
The design is based on a design from the British Museum, Room 47 and the original Anglo Saxon brooch or belt buckle was discovered at Pentney in Norfolk.
Our silver coloured box features an intricate medieval knotwork design with a beautiful amethyst stone in the centre.
Our little keepsake boxes make great gifts for a 10th wedding anniversary present (pewter is 92% tin), and are ideal for a birthday, engagement, bride, bridesmaid, graduation, Christmas or any special occasion.
Traditionally an amethyst guards against drunkenness and helps instil a sober mind. The word amethyst comes from the Greek "without drunkenness" and the stone is believed to protect one from poison.
The Anglo Saxon box is 5cm (1.9”) round and comes packaged in an organza pouch.
Our little boxes are created using polished lead free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead). We use solid metal, so the surface of the box will never rust or flake. Just wash with warm soapy water to clean.
