What could me more quintessentially English and represent the British countryside than a fox and a pheasant?

"The sleeping fox catches no poultry.” – Benjamin Franklin

Fox and pheasant symbolism

Often associated with the trickster, the fox can also be regarded as the teacher, providing guidance on overcoming obstacles, adaptability and developing quick thinking. The pheasant represents yang energy and carries the attributes of fire, life, summer, action and masculinity.

The pewter bowl is 9 cm (3.5”) in diameter and 2.8 cm (1.1”) in depth. The fox is 4.5 cm (1.8”) in length and the pheasant spoon is 10.4 cm (4.1”) long.

All of our spoon and bowl sets are packaged in a black presentation gift box with care instructions.

Pewter Gifts

Every Glover and Smith fox and pheasant bowl set is handmade from polished, solid lead-free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and completely nickel-free and food safe.

Because our designs are all created in solid metal, the surface of your fox bowl and pheasant spoon will never flake like a silver plated bowl and spoon. To clean, simply wash with warm soapy water.

All Glover and Smith pewter British countryside designs are made exclusively by us in our workshops in Salisbury, Wiltshire. UK
