Forget Me Not Meaning
The forget-me-not is associated with romance, but it also has a tragic fate and was often worn by ladies as a sign of faithfulness and enduring love.
Legend tells of a knight and his lady who were walking along a riverbank. He picked a posy of flowers, but because of the weight of his armour he fell into the river. As he was drowning he threw the posy to his loved one and shouted "forget me not!".
January Birthstone
Garnet is the birthstone for January and also celebrates the 2nd anniversary of marriage. The name “garnet” comes from the Latin word “Garanatus,” meaning “seedlike,” in reference to a pomegranate seed.
Each forget-me-not box is 5 cm (2”) in diameter and is presented in an organza gift bag with care instructions. However, if you select gift wrapping, the keepsake box will come in a gift wrapped black presentation box.
Pewter Trinket Box
Every Glover and Smith forget-me-not box with garnet is handmade from polished, solid lead-free English pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead content in old pewter) and completely nickel-free and eco-friendly.
Because our designs are all created in solid metal, the surface of your flower box will never flake like a silver plated keepsake box. To clean, simply wash with warm soapy water.
All Glover and Smith pewter boxes are designed and made exclusively by us in our workshops in Salisbury, Wiltshire UK
