Ivy Leaf Tiny Spoon
Condiment Spoon with Ivy Leaf Handle
A beautifully textured and delicate condiment spoon, perfect for little servings of salt, pepper, herbs and spices.
This pleasing small spoon has an ivy leaf on the end of a thin twig stemmed handle.
Perfect finishing touches for any dining table.
Because it is an evergreen plant, ivy represents eternity, fidelity and strong affectionate binding as in love, marriage and friendship; so ideal for weddings.
The ivy is also a symbol of survival and determination, for its ability to grow in challenging environments.
How much is a pinch of salt ?
A pinch of salt or spice is traditionally defined as "the amount that you can hold between the thumb and forefinger".
Various opinions abound as to the actual amount for a pinch of salt, and either 1/16 or 1/8 teaspoon (0.3 or 0.6 ml) are the most common.
Here’s a general rule, there are two dashes in a tad, two pinches in a dash and two smidgens in a pinch, if that helps! If not, our little ivy spoon holds 1.2 g (0.04 oz) of heaped, 0.6 g (0.02 oz) rounded and 0.4 g (0.01 oz) level.
Silver in colour, the ivy salt spoon is 9.3 cm (3 3/4”) long and is presented in an organza bag with a card with care and usage instructions.
Each ivy leaf salt spoon is hand crafted from polished, solid lead free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and completely nickel free and food safe.
Because our designs are all created in solid metal, the surface of your ivy leaf salt spoon will never flake like a silver plated spoon. To clean, simply wash with warm soapy water.
All our designs are made exclusively by us in our own workshops in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
