Spice Spoon with an Acorn Handle

A beautifully delicate and tactile condiment spoon, perfect for small helpings of salt, pepper, herbs and spices.

This pleasing little spoon has an acorn on the end of a thin twig shaped handle. A perfect finishing touch for any dining table.

The seed of the mighty oak tree symbolises potential, strength and longevity. It is also a Celtic and Nordic symbol of life, fertility and immortality.

“For every mighty oak, there was a nut that stood its ground.” – Anon

How big is a pinch of salt?

A pinch of salt is traditionally defined as "the amount that you can hold between the forefinger and thumb".

There are differing opinions as to the actual quantity of a pinch of salt, and either 1/16 or 1/8 teaspoon (0.3 or 0.6 ml) are the most commonplace.

If it helps, here’s a general rule, there are two dashes in a tad, two pinches in a dash and two smidgens in a pinch. If that doesn’t help, our little acorn spoon will hold 1.2 g (0.04 oz) of heaped, 0.6 g (0.02 oz) rounded and 0.4 g (0.01 oz) levelled salt.

The silver coloured acorn spice spoon is 93 mm (3 3/4”) long and is presented with a card with care and usage instructions inside an organza bag.

Hand Crafted Pewter Acorn Gifts

Each acorn salt spoon is hand crafted from polished, solid lead-free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and completely nickel-free and food safe.

Because our designs are all created in solid metal, the surface of your acorn condiment spoon will never flake like a silver plated spoon. To clean, simply wash with warm soapy water.

All our designs are made exclusively by us in our own workshops in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
