St Cuthberts Cross Christening Spoon | Pewter Spoons Made in Britain
Christening Cross Spoon, ideal Christening gifts handmade in the UK by Glover and Smith. This cross spoon is modelled on the Medieval St Cuthbert's Cross found in Durham Cathedral.
Lead-free pewter is completely food safe and the cross spoon can be used for tea, coffee, sugar, salt or anything you want!
This Christening gift for boys and girls is designed to be used and enjoyed later in their adult life, perhaps even being kept and re-presented on their 18th or 21st birthday.
As well as the Christian meaning, the cross symbolises the fourfold divisions of nature such as directions, elements and seasons. In ancient times, it was considered the ideal shape of man; the very blueprint of his nature. It is also associated with the life giving power of trees.
Our St Cuthbert's Cross spoon is 10 cm long (4") and comes in a black presentation box.
Each medieval cross spoon is hand crafted from polished, solid lead-free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and completely nickel-free and food safe.
Because our designs are all created in solid metal, the surface of your medieval cross spoon will never flake like a silver plated spoon. To clean, simply wash with warm soapy water.
All our designs are made exclusively by us in our workshops in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
