A charmingly detailed circular pewter necklace with a bee in the centre and the words “Plight of the bumblebee” around the edge.
Nature inspired jewellery
The bee is a symbol of sexuality, fertility, chastity, purity and care, the perfect gift idea for any nature loving busy bee!
Save the bees
The number of bees has declined rapidly since the 1940's and several species are now extinct. These declines have occurred because of changes in way the countryside is managed, the use of pesticides and the demand for cheap food which have hugely reduced the density of the flowers and plants that bees feed on. Without the industrious work of our bees and other pollinating insects, over one third of everything we eat would simply disappear.
5% of all sales of this item is donated to The Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
The Plight of the bumblee necklace is 28 mm (1.1”) wide.
N.B. The bee pendant comes with a choice of two chain lengths. The default setting is the 18” chain, but if you would prefer a longer necklace, please select the 22” chain in the “chain options” box above.
Each bumblebee necklace is packaged in a black presentation box and an organza pouch.
All Glover and Smith necklaces are made from solid polished lead free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and are guaranteed nickel and allergen friendly. We use Sterling silver chain and jump rings for their strength.
Because we use solid metal the surface of your bumblebee necklace will never flake like a silver plated necklace. To clean just wash with warm soapy water and occasionally use a silver cloth on the silver components.
All G&S pewter bee designs are handmade exclusively by us in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
