Oak Leaf bowls
Perfect gifts from England.
“When the oak is felled the whole forest echoes with its fall, but a hundred acorns are sown in silence by an unnoticed breeze” - Thomas Carlyle
A perfect 10th (Tin) anniversary gift (our pewter is 95% tin) and an ideal gift for birthdays, weddings or Christmas.
This splendid pewter oak leaf bowl is ideal for sugar, salt, mustard, sauces etc.
Acorn and oak symbolism
Acorns symbolise patience and the fruition of long, hard labour. They also represent luck, prosperity and growth. Strong and mighty, the oak tree stands for: hospitality, stability, strength, honour, eternity, endurance and liberty.
“Faith sees a beautiful blossom in a bulb, a lovely garden in a seed, and a giant oak in an acorn.” - William Arthur Ward
The oak leaf bowl is 9 cm (3.5”) in diameter and 2.8 cm (1.1”) deep, the accompanying acorn spoon is 9.2 cm (3.6”) long.
Each oak leaf bowl and acorn spoon is packaged in a presentation gift box with care instructions.
UK Hand crafted Pewter Oak Leaf Gifts
Every Glover and Smith oak leaf bowl and acorn spoon is hand crafted from polished, solid lead-free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and completely nickel-free and food safe.
Because our designs are all created in solid metal, the surface of your oak leaf bowl will never flake like a silver plated bowl. To clean, simply wash with warm soapy water.
All Glover and Smith pewter oak leaf and acorn designs are made exclusively by us in our workshops in Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK.
