The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey,
and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are, You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are...
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon.
Did you know...
Runcible was a nonsense word made up by Edward Lear, it has since been applied to a kind of fork used for pickles etc, curved like a spoon and having three broad prongs of which one has a sharp edge.
All Glover and Smith designs are made from solid polished lead free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead) and completely food safe. Because we use solid metal the surface of your Owl and Pussycat bowl and spoon will never flake or rust, just wash with warm soapy water. All our designs are made exclusively by us in Wiltshire.
