"O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?" - Edward Lear
The Owl and the Pussycat
The famous work is a nonsense poem by Edward Lear, first published in 1871. It features four animals – an owl, cat, pig, and turkey, and recounts the story of the love between the title characters, who marry in the land "where the Bong-tree grows".
The term "runcible", used in the phrase "runcible spoon", was invented for the poem.
The silver coloured bowl is 9cm (3.5”) in diameter and 2.8cm (1.1”) deep, the cat is 2.8cm (1.1”) high and the accompanying owl spoon is 8.9cm (3.5”) in length.
Each of our pewter bowl and spoon sets are packaged in a black presentation gift box.
Our food friendly bowl sets are handmade using polished lead free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead). Using solid metal means the surface of your bowl and spoon will never rust or flake. Simply wash with soapy, warm water to clean.
